NURTURE, ENGAGE, INSPIRE
Welcome to our website, which I hope provides you with a sense of how we nurture, engage and inspire all of our pupils at this wonderful preparatory school, establishing in them the skills which will prepare them for a future life of learning.
Beechwood Park provides children with a safe and happy learning environment in which they can enjoy, building friendships for life and developing their innate creativity, curiosity and confidence within the framework of our fortnightly pastoral values.
Our highly-qualified and experienced teaching staff encourage children to be active learners and to take increasing ownership of their studies. They teach children to focus and to question, to develop self-discipline and perseverance and to take academic risks. Through this, children learn the confidence and independence to inspire us across a broad range of educational experiences in and out of the classroom.
So what defines a Beechwood Park child? Our senior pupils are living proof of our educational aims. They are proudly individual, connected by an education which teaches them to love life, to embrace change and to aspire to the achievement of excellence. They are happy and confident (never arrogant) adventurers, who enjoy the exploration of big ideas, who argue and create, whilst retaining balanced and truth. We believe our pupils to be the future leaders of tomorrow, leaders who will need to be capable of critical thinking, collaboration, competitiveness and compassion. They are courageous, decisive and dedicated young people who bring their emotional intelligence to bear in their entrepreneurship and in the development of a better world.
Beechwood Park fundamentally believes in the transformative effect of an excellent preparatory education. Children therefore stand (run, jump, dance, act, sing, perform!) right at the centre of our thinking and of our decision-making. The Beechwood Park team of staff, parents and governors collaborate to develop confidence and independence as the bedrock of future achievement. From the brand new Woodlands Nursery right through to the Top Form, our education layers solid foundations of knowledge and skills on which children can build future learning and skills.
Our unrivalled extra-curricular programme provides further opportunities to perform in sport, music, drama and the wonderful outdoor Forest Schools programme; our sports hall, heated swimming pool complex, surrounding park and woodland provide further spaces for children to explore.
Our last Independent Schools Inspection (ISI) report in March 2016, made no recommendations for improvement and our ambitious development plans holds further excitements in store!
Truly to understand why children love Beechwood Park, please come and pay us a visit and feel the buzz!
Open Mornings take place each term. After a tour of the School, discuss your child with some of our senior members of staff. Pre-register for our Open Morning, or to arrange an individual appointment to visit the school please contact the Admissions Registrar, Liz Graham
We look forward to hearing more about your child.
With very best wishes,
The quality of the pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent and is supported by the extremely strong arrangements for pastoral care. ISI Inspection Report 2013
