Beechwood Park School is organised into four departments:
- Woodlands Nursery is located on site for children rising three to Reception age, in a new purpose-built, state of the art building, with a secure play area on the edge of the woodland and close to the Forest School.
- The Junior Department caters for year groups from the Reception Class to Year 2.
- The Middle Department caters for those in Years 3, 4 & 5.
- At the top of the age range (Years 6, 7 & 8) are the pupils in the Senior Department.
Many of the senior girls and boys enjoy the opportunity to board in their final years. Boarding is available from Year 5.
The academic curriculum at Beechwood Park pays due regard to the National Curriculum but it is not limited by it. We have been committed to implementing the demanding and innovative targets set by the Early Years Foundation Stage, the National Literacy and Numeracy Strategies since their inception. Ancient and Modern Languages, Technology, Creative subjects, Music and Sport are given a high profile and the specific demands of the Common Entrance and Scholarship exams to Senior Independent Schools are also reflected.
As well as academic, practical, musical and sports lessons, pupils are also taught social skills and how to belong and contribute to a community.
Pupils apply logical and independent thought extremely well. ISI Inspection Report 2013
