Before registering your child for entry we'd love you to come and visit the school for yourself.
Each term we hold an Open Morning and this an ideal opportunity to visit the School for the first time. Alternatively, the Headmaster and staff will also be happy to meet you and show you around the School at other times. Please contact Liz Graham the Headmaster’s Secretary for an appointment on 01582 840333.
Children may join us at any age as long as there is a vacancy in the appropriate year group. Nursery places (for children rising 3) are offered without an assessment. At all other entry points children are assessed to ensure that the curriculum we offer is suitable for them and that they meet our minimum standards. During the year before they are due to join us we invite children to visit the school so that we can get to know a little more about them.
For a child registered to enter Reception, or Year One, the child will be invited to attend an assessment test early in the year preceding entry in September. The assessment tests are qualifying, not competitive, and entry then depends on suitable vacancies.
For a child registered to enter Year Two or above, the child will be called for a short interview and assessment test early in the year preceding entry in September. The School will then, with the help of the child’s present school, assess his or her standard of work.
A number of children join us at Year Seven for the last two years in preparation for entry into independent senior schools. Staff at Beechwood Park have many years of experience in preparing children for the relevant entrance and scholarship exams. Beechwood Park has an outstanding record of examination success.
For registration, please complete the registration form and send it to the Headmaster's Secretary with the appropriate fee.
We were assured by the head that we would be 'blown away' by the wealth of space and facilities - the fabulous covered pool, the enchanting forest school and woodlands where pupils are allowed to run free at break times, vast grounds, brand new all-weather cricket nets and breathtaking buildings - we certainly couldn't fail to be The Good Schools Guide, 2017
