Our aim in the Science Department is to promote a friendly, safe and interesting learning environment.
The pupils are encouraged to think for themselves and ask questions. They learn through many different teaching methods such as practical work, written questions and answers, ICT, modelling, drama, reporting and investigating. This enables pupils with different learning styles to achieve their full potential in Science.
There are three specialist Science rooms which are well equipped for practical work. The Science Department also has a technician to assist in preparing equipment and to help in lessons as well as a prep-room to store the vast amount of equipment available for teaching. We want children to share our enthusiasm for science. The children are given as many opportunities as possible to conduct practical work that is relevant to the world around them.
Resources are used highly effectively; interactive boards, alongside other electronic devices, digital cameras, visual resources, games and practical tasks all contribute extremely well to providing stimulating lessons which foster excellent learning and promote successful outcomes.
