The Beechwood Community
When a child joins Beechwood, they are doing much more than that. They, and their family, are becoming part of the Beechwood “club”, which values and respects all of its members, and membership extends way beyond a pupil’s time at Beechwood.
The Beechwood Community, is warm, friendly and inclusive. During their time with us, your child will enjoy the friendship and companionship of their form and year group, and through the House system, they will benefit from the guidance and experience of older pupils. As pupils arrive at top of the School, in Top Form, they in turn become role models for younger pupils.
The Beechwood Community is not just for the pupils, however; our thriving Parents’ Organisation, the BPSPA, is hugely active, organising events for both children and parents alike throughout the year, raising funds and bringing the School together whenever they can.
Beyond School, Beechwood and its families are in turn members of our local community; life at Beechwood is busy, and it can be easy to be swept along on the tide of lessons and activities on offer. As well as supporting each other within the Beechwood family, we believe it is important to look beyond our School, and at ways that we can help make a difference to the lives of those around us, and further afield. Pupils take part in our “Leadership through Service Award, and the School works closely with a number of local charities which enables our pupils to appreciate how fortunate they are, and how they can be part of improving the lives of others. As well as our School charity (nominated by our pupils), we are particularly proud of our longstanding relationship with Keech House Hospice,; our fundraising efforts over the years (in conjunction with the BPSPA) for this wonderful local charity have now topped £250,000.
