Woodlands Nursery Makes Harvest Donations to Hospital NICU

This week, Head of Woodlands Nursery, Shirley Hayman,  took the Harvest donations kindly made by Woodlands parents  to the NICU ward at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital
The Ward Manager was absolutely delighted to receive the donations, saying how much they would help the families who often turn up at hospital with nothing, as frequently babies arrive at hospital as emergency cases.  Given NHS budget constraints, these donations are of huge financial benefit to the department too.  Everyone knows what a challenging year it has been for the NHS generally and for hospital staff in particular – the Ward Manager explained to Shirley that they have had to employ 125 new NICU nurses to replace staff who have left since the start of the pandemic.
We are delighted to have been able to help this wonderful hospital department out – small gestures like this can make a huge difference, and we are very grateful to all the parents who so kindly donated during the Woodlands Harvest Assembly.
