How to find us
Beechwood Park School is conveniently situated within easy reach of St Albans, Harpenden, Berkhamsted, Luton, Dunstable and Hemel Hempstead and is just 5 minutes from Junction 9 of the M1.
Please note that access to Beechwood Park is directly from Pickford Road and that the School cannot be accessed via Roe End Lane.
Please see the notice from Herts County Council at the bottom of this page regarding the temporary closure of Valley Lane.
From the M1:
Leave the motorway at Junction 9 and join the A5 north towards Dunstable. Travel for 2 miles, then turn left into Markyate village. In the centre of the village take Pickford Road (look for the sign to Beechwood Park). Continue up the hill on Pickford Road out of the village, travelling for 1½ miles (passing Roe End Lane) and turn right (opposite the end of Valley Lane) into the private drive leading to Beechwood Park School.
The nearest mainline stations are at Harpenden (a little over 15 minutes) and St Albans (approx. 20 minutes). From these stations, there very frequent main line trains to London Kings Cross and other destinations within the UK. There are also main line stations nearby at Berkhamsted and Luton and Luton Airport Parkway.
Whilst the School is not accessible via public transport, we run daily coach services before and after School to St Albans, Harpenden, Redbourn, Dunstable and surrounding. Please click here for details of the routes and timetables.
On Arrival: Please follow the directional signs to the Main Entrance. Ample car parking is available in front of the Main Building. Please enter the School via the front door. All visitors are kindly requested to sign in at the Reception Desk where they will be given a visitor pass to wear.
