Beechwood Summer Concert 2023

What a display of talent, confidence and superb music making at the Beechwood Summer Concert on 15 May!

Featuring just 13 from our current 30 ensembles that take place each week at Beechwood,  a grand total of 99 pupils performed and impressed the packed Performance Hall. Performances ranged from the Flute Ensemble playing Brahms, the 24-strong mixed Guitar Ensembles playing ‘Call me’ by Giorgio Moroder,  the Ukulele Club demonstrating their amazing improvising, and performances from the Brass, Percussion, Strings and Wind ensembles too….. there certainly was something for everyone.

The evening finished with a rousing performance from the Big Band with all our performers – and audience! – singing along (audience included)  in a great rendition of ‘Rock around the Clock’.

It was very easy to forget the age of the pupils performing and remember these are “just” prep school children producing such a high quality of wonderful music.

A huge well done to everyone involved and a huge thank you to my talented and inspiring colleagues who work tirelessly to achieve such great music.
