JUNIOR DEPARTMENT NEWS

The highlight of this week was our Junior Sports Day. It was lovely to see parents back enjoying such an occasion after three years.  All the children did so well as it has been particularly warm.

We have taken lot of photos, some of which you can see in our gallery below (we will share more photos in our End of Term Newsletter)

Ada Twist and the Disappearing Dogs by Andrea Beaty

The Disappearing Dogs is the latest in this engaging short-chapter series for newly independent readers. Presented in two-colour and with fabulous illustrations throughout, readers join Ada Twist and her fellow Questioneers as they try to solve the latest mystery.

This time, there seems to be a pet thief on the loose. But as a scientist, Ada knows it’s important not to jump to conclusions and to follow the facts. How will they find out what really happened to the town’s pets? By using the Scientific Method of course! Through making a hypothesis, collecting data, and experimentation, the Questioneers must find the missing animals before even more pets disappear!

Teacher’s Book of the Week

This week it is Mrs Ambrose’s turn to share her favourite book.

She has chosen Dogger, by Shirley Hughes (we are pretty sure that lots of our parents will remember this one!).  She has chosen it because she loves the moral of the story, and how kind the boy’s big sister is.  It even makes her cry!
