This week in Woodlands

I am writing this week to particularly welcome our new children, Iver, Alannah, Ivy, Arunveer and Oscar, along with their parents, to our Woodlands family.
Despite the rain and the cold, the Woodlanders have thrown themselves back into Nursery life this week, with confidence and exuberance. From cooking to PE, finger painting to story time, counting to making guitars, the week has whizzed past and we are excited to witness your children’s hunger to learn new things and immerse themselves in play.
May I remind you all to stay in touch through Tapestry, face-to-face chats. emails or telephone calls if you need to talk for longer.  The teachers are your children’s ‘Key Persons’ and our role is to nurture, engage and of course, inspire your children.
But, we know that we can only do this when working in partnership with you. So please feel free to ask questions, share information and get to know us.
For the benefit of our new families, your children’s teachers are:
  • Sarah, Donna, Sophie and Katie in our Green Class.
  • Shirley, Natalie, Sharon and Catherine in Orange Class.
I would also like to welcome our new teacher; Emma, who has joined Orange Class.
However, your children have opportunities to get to know all the teachers. Susan is another important member of our team and she moves between both our classes. Alice is our kind and friendly ‘dinner lady’. Catherine and Lily are our Parent Reps.
For your information, alongside many other activities and sessions, the children have:
  • PE and Science on Mondays.
  • PE, Music and the Headmaster’s Assembly on Tuesdays.
  • Mrs Dalkin’s story time on Wednesdays.
  • Mr Bullock’s and Shirley’s Assemblies on Thursdays.
  • Music, French and Forest School on Fridays.
The team and I are looking forward to a stimulating, happy and fun Lent term with your children.
Have a super weekend,
With my best wishes,
Shirley Hayman
Head of Woodlands Nursery.
