Woodlands Nursery at Beechwood Park welcomes boys and girls from rising 3 to start their educational journey.  

At Woodlands, we provide your child with the opportunity to engage in and develop through a truly innovative and creative curriculum, delivered in a sensitive and structured manner.

Woodlands Nursery’s curriculum is carefully planned and balanced to offer each pupil room for personal self-expression and choice, whilst at the same time ensuring that the key, early academic skills and knowledge are woven into the children’s day, through kinaesthetic, learning opportunities.

When you visit Woodlands, you will see and hear happy, busy and confident children who are encouraged to use their teachers as their learning resources as well as their secure, human relationships away from their homes. We really understand that our setting may be the first experience of formal education outside their family for many of our pupils, therefore it needs to be one of fun and creativity, offered in an environment where time is taken to care for the well-being of the adults and children working and playing together – day after day. 

We operate two colour classes in our large, purpose-built Nursery setting. Your child will be assigned to either Orange or Green and will have three special teachers to take good care of them and direct their learning opportunities. For some activities, your child will mix with the pupils in the other class so that they develop a wide friendship base and get to know the other three teachers too. 

Our Nursery staff team is highly trained and recognises the vital importance of building secure and happy relationships with you and your child. We care about your child and will work hard to understand their unique and individual personality, interests and needs. 

Being part of a larger school, our Woodlanders have the benefit of access to facilities most nurseries are simply not able to offer, such as:

• Access to the full-sized sports hall which is used for a variety of PE and games activities;
• Lessons delivered by teachers from the School’s specialist Music and PE Departments;
• Lunch and snacks provided by our award-winning Catering Department, but delivered in the familiar Nursery environment;
• Opportunity to explore our parkland and woodland setting

All Woodlands parents automatically become members of the thriving Beechwood Park School Parents’ Association (BPSPA), and benefit from many social events throughout the year.
