We are thrilled to announce a remarkable achievement by one of our former Beechwood Park School pupils. Sophie has been awarded a prestigious Arkwright Scholarship, a distinction earned after a highly competitive selection process.
An Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is the most esteemed of its type in the UK, designed to inspire students to pursue their dreams and change the world as outstanding engineers of the future. Sophie’s scholarship is sponsored by the Sir William Lyons Charitable Trust, a body closely associated with Jaguar Land Rover.
Tom Fox, our Head of Design and Technology, had this to say about Sophie’s remarkable journey: “Sophie was an exceptional pupil. During the challenging COVID-19 lockdowns, she took the initiative to raise funds and purchase 3D printers. She established a printing farm at her home, producing thousands of face shields for those in need.” You can read more about her inspiring work here
Sophie’s parents shared the news with us, thanking Mr. Fox for instilling a passion for design and engineering during her time at Beechwood Park.
We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Sophie for this outstanding achievement!”
