On Saturday 11 June, Seb and Luke represented Beechwood at the IAPS National Swimming Finals at the London Aquatic Centre.

Having made it through tough qualifying rounds, both Seb and Luke swam incredibly well and achieved personal best times at the event.  Seb finished 11th overall in the country in 50m  breaststroke, having been ranked 20th from the qualifying round.

Luke went one step further, making it through from the backstroke heats to the finals (swimming personal bests in both), where he finished in fourth place overall in the country, just missing out on a bronze medal by a fraction of a second!

Well done to both Seb and Luke.

We now look forward to next weekend when four Beechwood swimmers (Mattie, Stanley, Oscar and Barnaby) travel to Sheffield to take part in the ESSA Primary Schools’ Team Championships – good luck boys!
